InstaNinja 1.5: See Collab Posts on a Private Profile

We just shipped InstaNinja 1.5, and it's the update we've wanted to build since launch: public collaboration posts now show up on private profiles, and every public profile now shows its latest posts, not just active stories. No login, no follow request, same anonymous lookup you're already used to.

Here's what changed and why it actually matters.

The problem this solves

Private accounts follow people all the time, and there's rarely any way to figure out who's actually behind one before deciding whether to follow back, ignore, or block. A blank grid and a lock icon tell you nothing.

It turns out Instagram itself already treats some of that account's content as public. You just couldn't see it anywhere without an account. We built a way to surface it.

What's new: collab posts on private profiles

Instagram's native "Collab" feature lets two or more accounts co-own a single post. It shows up on both of their grids, exactly the same post. Here's the part that matters: if even one of those coauthors has a public account, Instagram makes that specific post public for every collaborator on it, including one whose own account is set to private.

That's not a loophole, and it's not us bypassing anything. It's how Instagram's permission system already works, confirmed directly against live profiles. A private account's own posts, stories, and everything else stay exactly as locked as they've always been. We're only ever showing the subset of content Instagram has already decided is public, labeled with who else is tagged on it.

Why this is genuinely useful:

• Figure out who followed you. A private account you don't recognize followed you? Check their collab section. The people they're tagged with, the kind of content, the vibe: often enough to tell a real person from a spam/bot account without exposing anything you shouldn't see.
• A safety check, not a workaround. This is about giving you more context before you decide to accept a follow, not about unlocking private content Instagram never intended to share. Everything shown was already public; we just found where it was hiding.
• See the collaboration, not just the account. Each post is labeled with its other collaborator(s), so you know exactly why it's visible.

If an account has no public collabs, you'll see an empty section, same honest "nothing here" approach we already take everywhere else. We don't fabricate results.

What's new: latest posts on public profiles

The second half of this update is simpler: public profiles now show a grid of their most recent posts directly on the profile page, right below active stories. Previously you could only see stories; now you get a quick, real preview of what someone actually posts before you decide whether it's worth following.

• Photos, videos, and carousels all show up with their cover image
• Tap through to see captions and like counts
• Works the same anonymous way as everything else on the site: no login, nothing saved on our end

What hasn't changed

To be clear about the boundaries, since we'd rather be upfront than let anyone assume more than what's real:

• A private account's regular posts and stories are still fully hidden. Only content Instagram itself makes public ever shows up. If you're looking for a way around that entirely, it doesn't exist, and any site claiming otherwise is lying to you.
• Nothing is stored tied to your identity. Same anonymity model as always: see our trust page for the details.
• This only covers the first page of recent posts/collabs Instagram itself returns. An older collab buried further back in someone's grid might not surface yet.

Check a profile: Open the Instagram Profile Viewer and enter any username to see their latest posts, active stories, and, if they're private, any public collaborations they're tagged in.
