What we access, what we store, and what we don't.
InstaNinja exists in a category with a real trust problem — a lot of "Instagram viewer" sites ask for your login, promise things that aren't possible, or bury you in surveys before showing anything. This page is here to say plainly what we actually do, so you don't have to take it on faith.
What we access
Only public Instagram data. Profile information (bio, photo, follower counts) and active stories, for accounts the owner has made public — the same data Instagram itself shows to anyone browsing while logged out. If an account is private, we show that it's private; we don't attempt to access its content, and we don't pretend to.
What we never ask you for
Your Instagram login. There is no field anywhere on this site to enter an Instagram username and password for your own account. The only input we ever ask for is the username you want to look up — someone else's public profile, not yours.
If you ever see a site claiming to be InstaNinja that asks for your credentials, it isn't us — report it.
What we store
Public profile data we fetch is cached briefly so repeated lookups of the same popular profile don't hammer Instagram unnecessarily — this is the same public information, not anything about you.
We don't create an account for you or track your search history tied to your identity. There's no login, so there's no "your account" for data to accumulate under.
Basic, non-persistent rate limiting runs in memory to keep the service fast and stable for everyone — it isn't written to a database or kept as a browsing history.
What we don't do
- We don't access private accounts. Nobody can, without the owner accepting a follow request — see our full explanation of what actually works for private accounts if you've seen a site claim otherwise.
- We don't notify the profile owner of your visit — there's no mechanism for that, because no account of yours is involved in the request.
- We don't sell or share personal data about visitors, because we don't collect an identity to attach it to in the first place.
Why we built it this way
The honest answer is that "log in to view anonymously" is a contradiction — a tool that needs your credentials to work isn't anonymous, whatever it calls itself. We built InstaNinja around the actual mechanism that makes anonymous viewing possible (never authenticating as any account at all), not around asking you to trust us with your login and hoping we don't misuse it.
InstaNinja is an independent tool, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Instagram or Meta in any way. We don't host any Instagram content ourselves — everything shown is fetched live from Instagram and belongs to its original creator; nothing here is our content to license or sell, and we don't claim otherwise.
Report a problem or request your data be removed
If a public profile's cached info here is outdated, if you're the owner of a public profile and want your cached data cleared, or you've found a site impersonating InstaNinja — use the report form. See what "your data" actually means for a service with no visitor accounts in the first place: we don't hold anything tied to you; a removal request against a username only clears that profile's cached row (bio/photo/counts) from our system.
